Cover Story: Emotional Design
Whether automobiles or shampoo bottles, today anything and everything is labeled “emotional.” But what actually is “emotional design”? The general associations: pastel colors, organic forms, playful one-off design. Yet the connection between the object and its user can above all also be strengthened by new forms of interaction. We show that designers do not just have to rely on their intuition for their work and provide a glance into the future of almost living products.
